If you were previously granted indefinite leave to remain (ILR) in the UK, also known as settlement in the UK, and this has now lapsed because you have been outside the UK for more than 2 years or more than 5 years if were granted ILR under EU Settlement Scheme, but now wishes to return back to the UK and settle here, then you may be eligible for a Returning Resident visa. An application for a Returning Resident visa must be made from outside the UK.

If your application for a Returning Resident visa is successful, you will be granted entry clearance for settlement in the UK.
