The Hong Kong BN(O) Visa is an immigration route for Hong Kong British National (Overseas) citizens to live, work & study in the United Kingdom. Applicants for a Hong Kong BN(O) Visa may be a resident in Hong Kong or the UK. Hong Kong BN(O) Visa holders can also apply for their Dependent Partners & Dependent Children or Grandchildren who are under the age of 18. In some circumstances, Adult Dependent Relatives with a high degree of dependency on the main applicant or their dependent partner may also apply.  Family members can be of any nationality as long as the main Visa holder is a Hong Kong national.

The route leads to settlement. After five years of continuous residence, Hong Kong BN (O) visa holders may be eligible to apply for indefinite leave to remain, provided they meet the continuous residence & English language requirements.
