The UK parent of a child or children visa is for a parent who wishes to enter or remain in the UK as a parent of a child or children in order to care for their child or children. The child or children must be living in the UK already and be either a British or Irish citizen, settled in the UK (holding ILR), or in the UK with pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme.
To be eligible for a UK parent of child or children visa, you will need to meet certain criteria, which include a genuine & subsisting relationship, age of the child, joint parental or sole responsibility, financial requirements, and accommodation requirements. The exact requirements may vary depending on your personal circumstances. If you are eligible to apply as a Spouse, Civil Partner, Unmarried Partner, Fiancé, or spouse, then you should apply on the applicable partner or unmarried partner, Fiancé, or spouse route rather than as a Parent of a Child.
The UK Child Dependent Visa can lead to settlement in the UK after a period of 5 years or 10 years, depending on the route. If you believe your child is eligible to apply under this route, please feel free to contact us at hi@kb-law.co.uk, or Book an Appointment and we will be more than happy to legally assist you.
