The Adult Dependent Relative (ADR) visa allows adult family members of British citizens, or settled in the UK (holding ILR), or those with protection status (refugee status or humanitarian protection), or persons with pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme, to join their relative in the UK on a permanent basis. To be eligible for an ADR visa, you will need to meet a very strict threshold, which includes demonstrating that, as a result of the applicant’s age, illness, or disability, they require long-term personal care to perform everyday tasks and that such care is either unavailable or unaffordable in their country of residence. The applicant’s maintenance, accommodation, and care must be provided by the UK-based sponsor without access to any public funds.

The successful applicants are generally granted indefinite leave to enter the UK. However, in certain circumstances – particularly where the sponsor has only pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme – they may also be granted limited leave to enter instead of indefinite leave to enter, with a potential route to settlement.  If you believe you or your adult dependent relative is eligible under this route, please feel free to contact us at hi@kb-law.co.uk, or Book an Appointment and we will be more than happy to legally assist you.
